While working on her project "Literature Awareness", for which she received a DAAD scholarship, one Jacobs University student came up with the idea to start an international collection of books for leisure and pleasure reading at the Information Resource Center. The IRC was happy to support this initiative. The University Community Collection, which is organized by language, is housed on the third level of the library. Books can be found in the library catalog as well as browsed on a list. The collection is being built by donations from Jacobs University students and staff. Books in all languages are welcome. Want to be part of starting and maintaining a tradition? Bring your favorite book (or books) next time you come back from home and donate it to the University Community Collection! Books can be donated at the IRC circulation desk in the Campus Center. Each donated book will get a book plate identifying the donor. Each book will be recorded in the catalog and may be borrowed from the library. For more information please contact irc-library@jacobs-university.de.
